Need : A cost-effective way to provide digital imagery (including elevation data) for small land areas

Solution : Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Cessna capable LiDAR system with digital imagery; innovations include UAV design and the development of a system lightweight LiDAR/Digital Imagery system; normal systems weigh approximately 750 pounds while our system is less than 50 pounds

Need : Method of capturing rocket plume and evaluating the plume constituents with minimal other impurities

Solution : Using existing canisters, developed a vacuum with a timing system that was synched with the rocket test facility control system; also developed a locking mechanism that contained the gas for laboratory analysis; included design of a rig for holding the containers and analysis for proper place in plume stream.

Need : Quickly create an inexpensive, self-leveling camera system for use in aerial vehicles to provide a straight down view while in motion

Solution : Utilized an autopilot that interfaced with a GPS system to control small actuators to actively maintain the proper alignment; designed/assembled/fabricated the containment box, linkages and electronics in-house.

Need : A method to visually identify diseased live oak trees on the coastal areas of Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as indication on the extent of the spread
